Model diagrams

WeaverBird

WeaverBird is a program for developing and running computer models. It differs from most other modelling programs in three respects:

  • It is generic; the model is not hard-wired. You can make it generate your own diagram, you can write your own analysis routines and you can define what he model data looks like.
  • It is designed to be developed by one person and sent to many. A complete model is stored in a single PC file (like a spreadsheet) and can be sent by email or downloaded.
  • The readers of the model don't have to be trained because you can provide the model with an active text front end (rather like a web page).

WeaverBird is useful for a wide range of applications. You should consider WeaverBird whenever you want to make information more engaging.

Polyphony is a model, written in WeaverBird, that describes how business applications work. It is designed to replace traditional application documentation, and to be used before an application is developed, to specify its functional requirements. To learn more, click here.
